I was driving back to the housing area. I drove 20 km/h and about to stop to get my ID Card when it happened. A girl, riding her bike, ran into the car. There was nothing I could do. She was so fast, didn't look at all, just raced from that small sidewalk on the street, straight into my car. Thank god nothing really happened but because it was right in front of the gate the Guards called the German cops and you know what they said? That I am partially guilty. I am partially guilty because you have to turn left to drive into the housing area. They said that I didn't spend enough attention. HELLO? I was as slow as possible, just about to stop and SHE LITERALLY RAN INTO THE CAR. I didn't even have a chance to do anything at all about it. The Guards told the cops that there was nothing I could do about it but german law is german law and that says that I am partially guilty only because I had to turn left.
It's getting better. If she decides that she's hurt the cops have to press charges against me because of assault and battery even though SHE RAN INTO MY CAR!
They said that we should have never called the cops because she wasn't hurt at all (but you never really know and she was on a bike and ran into the car so there could be something and we all didn't want her to leave. One could see that she was under shock). The guards had to call them anyway, even if the two of us decided not to.
However, I am glad she's not hurt. When I was 13 I was run over by a car and I know what it is like, so thank god she's not hurt. I hope that thaught her a lesson. They have to stop before they go on but no one ever does. All all race on the street without even looking.
