Yesterday me and my neighbor walked the dogs on post. Usually we don't have any problems at all. We both have Sheperds and they are well behaved and trained. However, they both were on the leash and we walked on the public sidewalk when some guy said that our dogs would kill the grass and his flowers. Our dogs didn't even do anything, they were just sniffing.
Later on we walked the same route with just my dog and that time the guy literally jumped at us. He yelled that we couldn't walk our dogs there because we have to stay away 25ft from the playground and the house, if we wouldn't know the regulations, we'd kill the grass and his flowers. We told him to calm down and that it is a public walkway, he completely freaked out and scared the hell out of me. He threatened to call the MP's and that is when we said that we don't have to listen to him and walked away, that's when he called me a bitch.
We decided to talk to an MP because we wanted to know what was going on and if we really couldn't walk our dogs on the sidewalk (between the houses and the grass). He said that as long as my dog is on the leash no one can say anything. He said that we should call the MP's if he'd ever jump at us again and went there to have a little talk with the guy. Sadly he was already gone and we didn't have any name nor apartment number.
I don't get it. Why do people have to be like that. That guy didn't know us at all and he jumped and yelled at us without no reason. It scared me and I don't know what would have happened if we didn't walk away. The MP told us that we did the right thing and that we don't have to worry about anything. So we'll continue to walk our dogs. It is our right to walk the dogs and if he has a problem with it, it's not our problem. This is government property, not his!
