No, your dog can't play with mine!

I don't know what people think or if they think at all but I do not want anyone to play with my 13 weeks old puppy. Especially if the dog is way out of hand and would simply run her over. That is NOT socializing. It's dominating and could screw her elbows up for life!

It happened yesterday that she was run over by a big dog and she was limping so bad that we thought her elbow snapped. If that would have been the case she would have had to undergo surgery. Even if the other dog just wants to play... don't do it! Do not let a puppy at that age play with an older, bigger and more powerful dog unless you REALLY know the dog.

Just don't do it, it's not worth it. Don't let any big dog approach a puppy unless he is completely under control and on the leash. It's not only a matter of "is he going to run my puppy over" but also a domination thing. You do not want your puppy dominated by a dog that you don't even know and will never see again.

And stuff like "But I want my puppy to respect other dogs so it is okay when they put her into place..." is the most stupidest thing ever!
YOU teach your puppy manners. Don't let it get that far in the first place. If you see that your puppy is annoying an older dog interrupt them! Take your puppy out. YOU are in charge, YOU should watch her with eagle eyes and read the signs and not let it get to the point where your puppy gets bitten by another dog, even if it is your own dog. YOU are in charge, YOU are the pack leader!

DO YOUR JOB!

I so agree with you! This is a little different kind of situation, but I recently lost it on my neighbor who has a poorly trained GSD. Twice now when I let my little Jack Russell mix out to go potty, this GSD has attacked her. Thankfully I got her back inside before the GSD got to us on both occasions, but it scares me to death! This time I yelled at her to control her f*cking dog, and all she did was say "Please! No! My dog only wanted to play!" Ummm... no. This dog did NOT want to play. There are two other GSD's with better manners that live close to us too and when THEY come over it is to play. This dog came over to have my poor little dog for lunch.

Gnaah! These are the people that give the breed a bad name and some people need to learn to differ play drive from aggressive behavior and vice versa.

Now German Shepherds do play rough. People usually think that my dogs are fighting while they are just playing, however I know when they are playing and when they are not. Some people need to educate themselves on dogs and learn to read the signs.
