The past couple of weeks have been pretty busy, again. The weekends are usually filled up with working with the search&rescue team and during the week. Well, it's still hard to adjust, especially since we only have one car. That is also one of the reasons why we have decided to move yet again. We've also decided to buy and applied for a VA Loan. We got approve and are now on the search for our own home. We've been looking at 9 properties so far and ruled 6 of them out. We like two of the properties very much. One of it is in Watertown while the other one is in West Carthage. The one in West Carthage we both like a lot. It is somewhat Cape-Codish but once you get inside everything is finished with real wood. The walls, the floor, the kitchen, literally everything is in bright, natural real-wood and not the fake stuff you get to see so many times.
The other house, that I really like, is a victorian style house. The kitchen is not as open as it is in the other house but it comes with a fireplace, two car garage, has a finished and water-proof basement, is very affordable and the taxes are not that high either. I love the victorian style home, however there is still a lot we need to talk about. Especially since we have dogs, I need to find a homeowners insurance that will insure us with the German Shepherds, I have to find out how many dogs we can actually keep in Watertown. I've heard that some towns have restrictions and only allow you to have two dogs per household. To me, that is ridiculous. Yeah, there are hoarders out there but not everyone is a hoarder and I can't believe that people actually put up with that bullshit, especially over here in the US where people hate when the Government sticks their nose too much into their business but yet they put up with shit like that?
Excuse my language but if I find out that Watertown has a restriction like that, we stay out of town. There is no way I am giving up one of my dogs just because the City says so...
However, one of my husbands fellow Soldiers hit our car in the front and ran. It sucks because you just don't know who did it and you have to live with it. Every morning he has to go to work and wonder who actually hit our car. So much for the high values and camaraderie. It's all just a big fat lie and joke.
Anyhow, I love my SAR Team. While there are issues, like with every team, it's a small team and I just love working with them. It's not easy but we are getting there.
While Indra and Judge are being trained as Wilderness SAR Dogs, Yukon started training as a Cadaver dog plus I was appointed as one of our Obedience Instructors. We have two German Ladies on the team and both of us are responsible for the Obedience.
Judge is growing so fast and becoming a very handsome boy. He's such a cutie-pie and has already wrapped everybody around his big paw.
Next week CPR Training and Winter Survival Training is coming up. I can't wait, especially since last weekend the Training was called off due to the bad weather.
That is another thing I can't wait to happen. I love snow, I really love the cold and snow but right now, I can't wait for it to go away. Especially since it limits everything we do. I couldn't attend the last Greg Doud Workshop because of the weather issues either and driving with a damaged car isn't so much fun either. It definitely needs to get fixed but we have not even gotten the police report yet. I doubt they are going to put much time into the investigation, they got more than 40 cases in two days of people sliding into other cars. People think they are such great drivers over here because they are used to driving in winter but they are not! They are endangering others by driving like idiots around here.
Anyhow, enough of the ranting, it's not all that bad. Especially the SAR Training is going really well and I still can't believe that I get to train a Cadaver Dog.... that is something I would have never thought was possible.

i talked to a few people and many of them have said that you can have x amount of dogs as determined by the city but that you can apply for a boarding/kennel license and that covers you for any dogs on the property. may be something you could look into:)
Yeah, I talked to the City and they said that they don't have any restrictions. All I have to do is to register the dogs with the city. They don't do kennel licenses... sadly...
