So I created my very first blog background and that without Photoshop. There are so many free resources on the internet that you don't need to buy Photoshop in order to be creative. I took some freebies from here and there (mainly from www.shabbyprincess.com) and voila, here is my very own blog background and header.
I am going to work a little more on the header though. I think it is not standing out enough.

What program did you use?
I am using Paint.net and Gimp
Both are pretty good the only thing I am missing is the "rotating picture" function. You can rotate them but only vertically or horizonental. So you can't just rotate them for 10%. It's only 90 percent or a 180 percent. But I am sure there are other better programs out there. :)
