Looking back...

Wow! I've been going back to the beginning of my blog. This is not the first blog I have, I had another one before but deleted it. At that time I thought it was a good idea because I wanted to quit that chapter of my life and start a new one. I went through a rough time and it was literally a roller-coaster of emotions. I've lost a person I deeply loved and I thought I'd never find the same love again. From then on I went from one relationship into another and it always ended in a desaster. Than I decided to go back to school and that I don't want to have anything to do with the military EVER, E.V.E.R again.
I decided to go back to school and in order to do that I had to move halfway through the country. What I didn't know at that point is that the student dorm was just one street away from the US Army Post and that it is absolutely impossible to go to a bar without meeting military people. The time I went to the rock bar down the road I met somebody. First I thought he's a student but it turned out that he's both, student and military and that is how my story in good ol' Heidelberg began.

I started working in the Rock Bar because almost no student can live without a job and I got to know more and more people. There was one guy that literally lived in the bar (if he hadn't duty) his name was Tom. Tom is now medically retired but he is the reason that I am now married. The first day my husband moved to Germany, Tom dragged him to the bar even though my husband really doesn't like to go out. He was Toms roommate and wanted to be nice. That is how I met my husband (read about our first date).

I got involved with his Unit, went to the Christmas Gift Wrapping, went to my husbands re-enlistment which was held at the Christmas Social in the Schwetzingen Castle, we threw the Christmas Dinner in the Barracks, and had the pleasure to make my first rant about babies and way to young kids in the movie theater on post

Remember, I NEVER wanted to be involved with the military EVER again... RRRIGHT!!!

And than he proposed and from then on nothing went right. Boy had we fun with the paperwork and planning that wedding because we couldn't plan anything at all until we got approved by German Court and once we got the papers things got even worse.

We've had trouble to find an interpreter and once we've had one we almost got screwed over, well she wanted to screw us over and in the end she did... but we still went through with it.

Here is the entire story of what we went through until we finally got married.

Than we finally received the papers! (YAY!!!)

FINALLY, we could set a date and I organized everything and than another hit. The 1SGT turned down our wedding because of payday activities and I had to reschedule and plan everything within ONE DAY! I don't know how I did it but in the end everything worked out.

I was so mad. I had a gorgeous wedding dress I haven't worn to my wedding and it's still hanging in my closet. Even worse... after we got married the 1Sgt called off the payday activities so we could have had our wedding afterall. I was livid and wanted to go there and kick their butts for ruining our wedding but in the end it wasn't worth it.

After a while we were able to pick our apartment, decided to get Yukon (he was so scared of us when we went on the first walk with him), I went furniture shopping (don't you just love to go shopping for furniture?), than EHRMANN delivered the furniture and I just loved the final result.

And once Yukon moved in with us the blog shifted more and more into a dog handling blog.

One day I found a monster in my closet, we bought the Jeep, went to the marriage retreat and than my parents had the day of the open barn door and from then on I got more and more into dog handling and now my blog is pretty much about the dogs. I know I could split it up. One blog for the dogs and another for myself but why should I?

This is me! It's all me. That is the way I am and either you like it or simply leave it :)
I am an Army Wife and love the dogs. So I am writing about anything and everything on here. Two blogs would be too much of a hazzle anyway even though I thought to create one just for Indra so I can keep up with the progress we are making but I don't think I'll ever post anything on there.

So yes, it's been an interesting year with lots and lots of adventures. It's interesting how we change over time and I love being able to look back and see what has happened over the past year and a half.
