Rumors, Rumors and more Rumors...

As great as it is to have neighbors as much I hate the rumors that comes with stairwell living.

One of the neighbors spread the rumor that one of my dogs can't be trusted and that she is aggressive towards strangers. Shortly after we've got a complaint with housing (we don't know if it is because there is this rumor out there or if it is because we have three dogs or because of both of it) and had to get another exception of policy which had to go through my husbands chain of command and we got only granted until August and in August we have to move her out of the house and board her somewhere else. Thankfully I have an outdoor kennel ready that I can keep her in. It's actually two kennels and I am thinking of moving two dogs out of the house so she wouldn't be alone out there. I just hate people sometimes. I have an idea of who it could have been and that person is the most backstabbing woman I have ever met in my life. I think she is trying to get to me but in the end she is hurting the dogs more than me.
They haven't been living in an outdoor kennel for a year. They've been staying at my parents every once in a while for a couple of days but it's not the same than moving them out of the house until we pcs to the States.

Not any of my dogs are aggressive towards strangers and I've done everything to prove it. She will protect me if she has to but that's one of the reasons why I have dogs. I feel safer with them. Military Spouses are alone a lot of times. Duty, Deployment, Training... and I don't want to be alone all the time and I want to feel safe. My dogs give me the feeling of being safe. They keep me company, give me something to laugh each and every day, I stay active because of them and they alarm me if somebody is at the door or doesn't belong in this building. They know who belongs in this building and who doesn't and they will let me know. Zenzy will protect me when we are out at night. We've had a couple of encounters where she sensed that something wasn't right and successfully kept some stranger on the distance but that is what a good dog does.

I've been making a point to walk all three of them over the post, I don't have a problem to take them to the headquarter area. They are leashed, well behaved and if I have to go to the ATM I use the opportunity and take them with me. If I have to go to the bank or mail office I tie them up outside and go inside. I even took them to the change of command ceremony because EVERYBODY was there and I knew that people would pay attention to a woman that has three German Shepherds on the leash. They behaved perfectly. Just sat there and let people pet them. I was so proud of them that I did another round over the post before we went home. The kids in the neighborhood love all three of them. Even though there is the leash policy I've let Yukon off the leash and the kids were throwing sticks and they played with him. They adore the puppy because they can play chase games with her and they love Zenzy because she's laying down and lets them walk all over her. She loves kids and simply enjoys the attention she's getting from them.

Yesterday I went to the river Rhine and some stranger was standing down there. I asked him if he was okay that I have them off the leash and he said he's fine with it. They have never seen that guy before and that is how aggressive they are towards strangers... take a good look at those man-eating machines, especially Zenzy, isn't she the worst of all?

The only problem I have with Zenzy is that she is dog reactive. She hasn't always been like that and we are working on it. We can walk by other dogs without her going at them. But if they are off the leash and run towards us it is a totally different story and I hate when dogs, that are off the leash, run towards us without listening to their owners. It happened so many times that I believe that it is one of the reasons why I am dealing with a dog reactive dog now. She's had pyometra and almost died from it, the annoying puppy, had a surgery, hormonal change, dogs that ran up to her... these are all factors that come into play and she just didn't want to be around other dogs anymore but it got a lot better and you can clearly see that my dogs are NOT aggressive towards strangers!

Seriously?! How horrible for someone to do that, your dogs are wonderful. I will go as far as to say they're the best behaved dogs I've seen on MTV, they're really a credit to their breed.

I'm sorry someone was so horrible as to complain about it.

Thank you so much Satakieli, that means a lot to me. I don't know why somebody would do that either. I'd love to take pics when the kids of the neighborhood are all over them and just black out the faces to show everybody that Zenzy is not aggressive.
