Supportive Neighbors

There may be neighbors that don't have your best interest at heart but you will always find great supportive neighbors that understand and actually are supportive. One of them is actually a fellow blogger and I didn't even know she lived in my neighborhood until we found each other via the blogs. Than I've seen her outside but wasn't sure if it is really her until the day I asked and it's greet to know her in person. She is one of the sweetest girls out there.

I wanted to post that picture a long time ago but couldn't find it anymore. Hubby moved it to a different folder (he is very particular about pictures) and I just found it a couple of days ago.
Indra wanted to help her so bad (more like messing it up). :)
She grew so fast...

I just wished the person that complained about the dogs would have asked us first and went through our stairwell co-ordinator because she didn't even know what was going on. Nobody in this building knew. We can only guess. July is almost over and hopefully we can get another exception until we move. Come on, it's just four more months until we have to move and than we are out of here. It's not like they can't give us another exception, especially since I can prove that NONE of them is aggressive towards kids & strangers.

Take today, I was outside with Yukon and doing a little table-training. We want to take the BH before we leave. So I have to up the training and make sure that he will listen to any command I give and since he was abused I had to work hard on the down and re-train it. So right now I am outside almost every day, have him on the table and train "Sit", "Stay", "Down" until he's got it. I am still using treats to lure him but I don't use as many as I used to, so we are making progress.

The fellow blogger I was talking about earlier was out with her son and talked to another neighbor. Once I was done I went over to say hi. It didn't take very long and the kids were all over Yukon, petting him. He enjoyed himself very much and rolled on his back, one of the girls tickled him on his favorite spot and she was like "He's riding the bike!"
That girl just loves dogs. She's always right there to either play or goof around with them.
She especially likes the puppy. She goes down into playing position, just like a dog would do and Indra usually engages into the game. It's hilarious and cutest thing ever, to watch them two.

She was so sad when Zenzy had her surgery. That girl has not only a hand but lots of love for dogs. I just wished I knew who and why we received a complaint because they are really not a threat to any child out there and I wished the neighbor who told those people that my dog is going at strangers would have taken me seriously. I told her that it is NOT a good idea to tell people stuff like that and that we can get into big trouble because of it and stuff like that spreads like fire. They just had to tell the wrong people and seen her barking at some dog, or seen her playing with Yukon and they are rough players, it sounds and looks vicious but that is how Shepherds play. They will wrestle, growl, bark and sometimes even snap at each other, or grab the neck and tackle the other dog. Let them have seen anything like that, take it the wrong way and voila, you've got a complaint.

But why can't people ever come to you upfront and ask you? Why can't they ever say "Hey, I've heard..." or "Is it true..." why do they always have to go behind your back and turn in a complaint without having all the facts?

Anyhow, it's always good to have supportive neighbors and I am lucky that I have neighbors who think that I have the best behaved dogs on post. It means a lot to me and even if it doesn't help to change the situation it's sort of mental support and you know that people have your back.

Thank you so much for that.

I heart you guys :)

I totally forgot about that picture! haha, and how tiny Indra was then, you're right she did grow fast!

Do you know who made the complaint? Because I was wondering if it was the people downstairs from us (the building coordinator). it's a well known fact that he doesn't like dogs and his kids are terrified of them. He is always complaining about the dogs our neighbours have, keeping dogs on the leash, off the playground and things like that.

Anyway, hope you have a great weekend!

No, I don't know who made the complaint but I wouldn't be surprised if it was the guy downstairs from you. He actually walked up one day when I had them running outside. I know there is the leash policy but sometimes you just have to let them run and I usually make sure that nobody else is around, like at night.

So he could have been it. The other option would be somebody who thinks that I "can't" care about three dogs.

Hopefully we can get an extension.

Hi Priya,

thank you so much for your comment. :)

Rest German Slow Dog, that is hilarious. I don't know why people like to call GSD's killer dogs. Most GSD's I have met are gentle & playful dogs.

Yes, it's only a quarter year until we move to the states. It is going to be a great adventure. My husband can't wait to move back but for me it's a bit different since I am leaving the rest of my family behind i.e parents and sisters.
