Hihi stell dir mal einen Hovawart vor, mit so riiiichtig schönen langen Haaren, der dich verschmitzt anschaut und sich dann in der nächsten Sekunde in ein Matschloch fallen lässt... So war unser Dicker drauf :D

And this clicker training might really be paying off! Thank you! But I am still having the hardest time training him not to pull on the leash, and advice? I am going to resort to a prong collar I think, because he is definitely growing more into the Chow now and becoming more independent and hard headed.

Hahaha, ja ich kann mir den Hovawart gut vorstellen. Kenn ja meine Schlammnase und wieviel Dreck die ins Haus bringen :)
Yukon ist genauso. Der guckt dich an und dann waelzt er sich voller Genuss im Schlamm :)

@Kaylee, I am glad the training is paying off. Just stick to it.

As for the pulling on the leash. Indra did the same thing. It's the age they are going through and everything is more intersting than the person on the other end of the leash. When she starts pulling we stop. I call her back and have er sit next to me. I did that over and over and over and over and over again. Sometimes we stopped more than we actually walked.

Use the prong collar wisely. What I'd do is to use two leashes. One on the prong and the other with the normal collar. Only use the prong when you need it and immediately let it go once he reacts to it.
